I’m sorry for such a late update! Today was a day that family life definitely happened and blogging came 2nd. Today’s challenge was decluttering an extra bedroom. We already did our Master Bedroom and I wanted a chance for everyone to declutter an extra bedroom before our 31 days are over.
I chose my son’s room to declutter. The day started out really well and the two of us got to work. We got his toys sorted and put away in the places they belong. He did a really good job of putting the Legos into correct container and putting away his train set and tractors. We had finished vacuuming and were getting ready to start on the closet.
About that time, our 2-year-old daughter who is potty trained decided to flush an entire roll of toilet paper down the toilet and we ended up with a huge mess. Such a mess that this is how the bathroom looks now! (Remember our house is 100+ years old!)
So the closet didn’t get finished and now it looks like tomorrow we’ll be putting in new flooring. Luckily the only thing damaged was the carpet that was in the bathroom (which needed replaced anyway.) We had been planning on doing something with the flooring in that bathroom anyway but it wasn’t on the list for this week!
I hope you had a more productive day than we did. However, I’m still very pleased that my son has clean bedding and a clean room. He is very proud of how it looks and it was a good lesson on why Dad and I say not to use a whole roll of toilet paper!
