If you saw my Facebook post earlier, you already know that I’m very happy with my results of our decluttering challenge! Today’s decluttering challenge was decluttering, organizing and cleaning your master bedroom except for the closet which we will tackle tomorrow!
I started at the door and worked my way around the room. After the entry, I did the first dresser, then the nightstand, the other dresser, and then I dusted and vacuumed everything. It was a beautiful day here so I was able to have the windows open too and air the room out.
I found many “treasures” throughout this challenge today. Here are the toys that I found under our bed. I was also blessed to find a $25 Target gift card behind my dresser, a pair of earrings Jason gave me that were missing, and a Veggie Tales DVD that was hiding under our nightstand. (I guess I need to pull the furniture out and declutter more often!) I also found a lot of trash to throw away and some clothing that also needed thrown away.
I also found 5 pairs of jeans, some pajamas, socks, a few t-shirts, and a picture to donate to someone who needs them more than we do! This was just from decluttering the dresser drawers! Tomorrow when I do the closet I’m sure that there will me much more!
I also threw in a new Scentsy smelly wax thing (those are technical terms there!) into the warmer so our room now smells wonderful. The bedroom is supposed to be an oasis and I can’t wait to go relax in there later. Evidently I did a good job because our 4-year-old came in and told me, “Good job mom!”
I’m glad I waited on tackling the closet until tomorrow. I ended up with a Kindergartener at home today with a tummy ache and I have some presents stashed in the closet so that could have been a little tricky!
I am very excited to find out what you found to bless others with! For those of you who don’t blog, leave a comment and let me know how decluttering your master bedroom went today! I’m also very excited to find out what you will be blessing others with!
