I’m so glad you all came back to check in on Day 9’s update of our 31 Days Of Decluttering In December series. I finished the challenge today in under 30 minutes which was great! I had a very dirty refrigerator and now I have a clean one and I am very thankful for that!
I learned three important lessons today while cleaning the fridge. Here they are:
1. Do not pull out a heavy drawer half way and let a half (opened) can of pineapple fall onto the drawer. (Ok, I should have known this already, but in my defense, I don’t know where the pineapple even came from and I definitely would have gotten rid of it first if I had!) As this happened, not only did pineapple juice spill all over the refrigerator, the can fell on the drawer causing the drawer track to break. Thankfully, it is still usable but what a sticky mess!
2. You can not super glue the track back together. After trying to do this for 20 minutes, I officially gave up and now my hands have super glue residue on them and it’s disgusting feeling.
3. Do not try the Pinterest idea where you put Glad Press & Seal over your shelves where it is supposed to peel off, leaving you a clean shelf. I suppose this could work if you faithfully clean your fridge once a week, but it’s been about 2-3 weeks since I’ve scrubbed mine down and the Press & Seal left its sticky residue on the shelves of the refrigerator. (A magic eraser did get that off fairly easily but it didn’t eliminate having to scrub the shelves, which was why I tried it in the first place.)
I hope that as you were cleaning and decluttering your refrigerator you were able to add items to your grocery list and meal plan at the same time! It was quite obvious I haven’t grocery shopped for 2 weeks after looking at mine clean. It’s really bare!
Were you able to get your refrigerator cleaned out today for your decluttering challenge? Did you have any complications? (I’m sincerely hoping I’m the only one that did!)
