Today’s challenge was decluttering your computer, Ipad, tablet, cell phone, or whatever electronic device you use. I hope that you didn’t have as big of a mess as I did but that you were able to complete the challenge!
I wish that I would have taken a picture of my desktop before I cleaned it because it was completely covered with files (so bad that there were items when I started filing that weren’t even on the picture!)
After I did the desktop, I moved to my email inbox. I thought it wasn’t too bad before I started with 170 emails. I was able to clean it out to 3 emails left unfiled. Most were moved to the trash so that was great. I then moved on to the promotions tag in Gmail and to my surprise, I had 1,396 emails. Seriously. I spent 15 minutes unsubscribing to some of them and then started deleting. I will have to become more intentional with unsubscribing when they arrive.
After I finished that project, I started deleting contacts out of my phone that were no longer needed and had 32 of them.
All in all, I think that was a great day of decluttering. Just opening my laptop and seeing a clean screen is a nice change of scenery and doesn’t make me tense before I get to working on it.
How did you do today on decluttering? Did anyone have more emails than me to delete?
