Today our challenge was decluttering and organizing your linen closet. I really was quite fascinated with what I found when I cleaned ours out. I wish I would have taken a before picture of my closet because there is quite a difference in the before and after pictures!
I challenged you to really dig in and go through to find what needed to be kept, what didn’t, and what you could bless others with. I found in our closet a fishing tackle box (removed to our outdoor building with our fishing stuff in it), some holiday items from Halloween that are going to be donated, a few crib sheets that will be donated, some poster board that had been stuffed inside, and a bunch of Playdoh toys (that I’m sure someone was hiding from Mom because Playdoh isn’t allowed upstairs!)
I went through our sheets, towels, and blankets. I refolded them and sorted those out that we didn’t need anymore. I have a nice bag of things to give to someone else. A good friend of mine suggested that local vet clinics could also use the towels and blankets so there is another place you could take them to.
My favorite part of this task (besides removing items we no longer need or use) was not only did I find room to store our swimming gear (that stuff is in the wicker basket) but there is extra space inside.
Were you able to get your linen closet decluttered today? I would love to hear your story! For those of you who don’t blog, leave a comment and let me know!
