Day 14 of our 31 Days Of Decluttering In December is in the books. Today’s challenge was decluttering, cleaning, and organizing the main bathroom in your home. What a task! I underestimated how long this challenge would take!I think I was in there about 90 minutes but I got everything done except wiping down the walls. That’ll have to wait for another day!
I started with rounding up the dirty laundry and then I wiped down the cobwebs. I took down some greenery that was above the cabinets that was absolutely gross with dust. I decided that instead of putting it back up there the greenery would go in the donate pile. After that I cleaned the bathtub and started on the cabinets.
I emptied out the cupboards above the toilet and I went through and got rid of 6 bottles of lotion that made my skin break out (it’s very sensitive), some old nail polish, and a few hair styling aids that were old and no one likes. I then grouped what was left by item are and how often they get used.
I then sprayed down the mirrors and cleaned the small cabinet above our sink. That’s where I keep my make-up. I got rid of some old eye products and threw away a few items that I didn’t like (but felt bad since I had purchased them!) However, I know that it’s not worth storing items that you don’t love.
I was most excited that I organized all the girls’ hair items and earrings. I bought a little organizer and put all their headbands in one drawer, clips in another, pony tail holders in another, etc. I finished up with dusting, wiping everything down, and vacuuming.
How did decluttering the bathroom go for you? Did you find anything you could bless someone else with or get rid of some items you don’t love? For those of you who don’t blog, leave a comment and let me know what you were able to declutter, and hopefully bless someone else with!
