It’s Day 28! We only have 3 days left to go in our 31 Days Of Decluttering In December! Today’s decluttering challenge is to cleaning and decluttering your living room and dining room. These two rooms are the most messy from Christmas, exploding with toys, a basket of laundry that needs folded, a table full of things that need put away and it’s driving me nuts.
Today we are going to take care of that problem! Turn up the music, light a great smelling candle, grab some laundry baskets so each child has a basket to load up their own personal treasures, a trash can, a bag to put your items found to bless others with and spend 30 minutes to an hour putting your home back together! As you put items back into their proper places keep in mind if there is anything that can be recycled? Do you have DVDs or video equipment that needs picked up and put away? Does the area need dusted or are there cobwebs to clean as you go? As you straighten books and papers keep only what you love discard the rest. Does your coffee table need wiped down after you get everything off of it? How about your TV or TVstand? Do you have blankets that need folded and put away?
As a weekend project my goal is for you to create a relaxing environment where you can spend some time either reading a book, playing with your kids with some of their new toys, have 30 minutes of downtime or take a nap!
If you want to link up, snap a picture and meet back at 6 CST. For those of you who don’t blog, leave a comment and let me know what you found to declutter and hopefully bless someone else with!
