September 11, 2001…14 years ago most of us woke and up started our day just like we always had before. We didn’t know that in a few hours our lives would be changed forever in a series of horrific acts that rocked the world.
Most of you could tell me exactly where you were when you found out the tragic news that morning, without even having to think about it (I walked into my 2nd college class of the day, Anthropology and one of the students had turned on the television.) It was life changing.
Tragedies change each of us in different ways. Many of us vow to live our lives with more purpose and intention. Whether that is being a improving our outlook on life by acting differently, exercising and living a healthier lifestyle, or being there for friends and family tragedies change us and our outlook on life.
What tragedy caused you to wake up and be ready to live? Was it September 11th, the death of a close friend or family member, someone you know being diagnosed with a health condition, being fired from a job or something else?
As time passed have you forgotten your purpose and what you intended to do as a result of that tragedy? What were your goals? Do you still want to make those changes?
I am a life-long learner. There is always something about me that I want to improve upon whether it’s fitness, homemaking, parenting, or being a great wife. This has always made me future focused which is a good thing but sometimes it makes it hard to focus on the present.
What can you start doing today to get you closer to your goals and purpose?
I get it. You want the best for your family and for you!
If you vowed to be a more intentional and loving wife, have you built up your husband lately? Are you praying for him every day?

Maybe you want to work on yourself! Whether it’s living a healthier lifestyle, saving money, focusing your self-care, or are just starting a weight loss journey there are many resources to help you (and you might even find some of them here on this site!)

This is such an excellent post. When we undergo tragedy — whether that’s 9/11, the death of a loved one, a cancer diagnosis, or something equally devastating — we see with clarity what truly matters, and what we want out of life. Yet, as time passes, we somehow lose that clarity. Thank you for reminding us that every day is precious, even when they are not lived in the shadow of loss, and should be lived with intention and grace.
