One way to carry out my 2016 goals is by doing a mini-challenge each month! (In January, my mini-challenge was exercising 4 times each week.)
Valentine’s Day can be a lot of fun to celebrate! I think we should let our family members know we love them all year-long, but it’s fun to show some extra love in February.
Our family members need to be told and shown that they are loved in each love language (especially the one that resonates with them the most). One love language is words of affirmation.
As I considered what I wanted to do for my February mini-challenge I kept thinking about something that would make my family feel good and bring us all closer together. That is when I came up with the I Love You February Mini-Challenge!
This is how the I Love You February Mini-Challenge works:
Each day, I will take a heart that I cut out of construction paper and write out one thing that I love about each family member, something that is extra special about them, or something I enjoy doing with them.
(We started this when the kids got home today and they loved it!)
I thought it would be fun to stick them in their backpacks, on their mirrors to read in the bathroom, on their plates at dinner time, or on their pillows.
A few examples of ideas are:
- I love when we play Go Fish!
- I love that you share.
- I’m proud of you when you help your brother!
- You are so creative!
This is a fun and easy way to bond with your family! Enjoy it!
Have you enjoyed what you read here today? Do you have friends or other women you know that could benefit from this resource? If so, please do me a favor! I have included the links below to share with other intentional women! They’ll be glad you did!

Thanks for sharing this mini challenge. I have older kids and grandkids and am going to improvise saying, ‘I love you’ all month.
I was sharing on a post for a boy 5 years old with a degenerative and fatal disease, Leukodystrophy because it was pointed out how the mom doesn’t get acknowledged enough as hard as dad tries.
I mentioned maybe we need to let his wife know how much we appreciate her right along with him.
I am planning to do more of this in February and for others too.
So glad your posted. Encourages me on.
