Confession time!
I want to live purposefully. I want to be a mom that sets a great example for my kids. I want to give you all great ideas on how to live an intentional, balanced life.
Here’s where I dropped the ball…
Somewhere in the last 2 years, I think my metabolism decided to die….for real! In the last 5 years I’ve gained 20 pounds.
YIKES!
I’ve always been an emotional eater and when I’m stressed, I eat. This year has added more stress to my life than I’ve had in a long time.
Nora’s vision therapy is my responsibility. I do every session with her and even though she is responsible for making sure she’s doing what she is supposed to, without mom sitting with her 5 days a week, it doesn’t get done.
Building a new house at the same time as doing this therapy is not something I’d recommend. Change is hard whether it’s wonderful change or bad change! With the house there are allowances, budgets, and deadlines. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity but with the added stress, I’ve added pounds!)
Then there is just regular life stress. As farmers, prices are far lower for our crops this year than the last few years. That all plays into our livelihood and my waistline!
It’s time to stop!
Starting today, I am putting myself as a priority. That means exercise, eating better, and staying out of the kitchen when I’m stressed out! It’s time to get healthy!
I made myself a DIY Weight Loss Journal to track my progress (you all know I’m nerdy like that! I’ll have more on this soon!)
I ordered Trim Healthy Mama after reading many, many rave reviews about it.
I’m looking for an activity tracker, too. We have stairs in our home so I’d like one that tracks going up and down . What is your favorite tracker?
I will follow-up on my first week’s progress next Monday! Wish me luck and motivation!
In the meantime what are your best tips for losing weight or favorite foods or workouts (no advertising, please!)

Visiting from Tuesday Talk and so glad you joined us and shared your tips here. It is so hard to stay on track sometimes. I like how you said, “putting myself as a priority” because I feel when we do that we are so much better for everyone else.

Yeah, me too. The Winter of 2015 left its mark on me, and I’m still trying to get into a healthy way of eating and thinking.
Thanks for putting this out there on the table today!
