My “One Word” for 2014 is the word, present! Therefore, each Monday I list my intentional, present goals for the week. My goals are broke down into relationship, homemaking, self-care, and blogging.
Last week was kind of a frustrating week for me getting things done. It seemed like I was spinning wheels but not getting anywhere. However, I did get some important things done and finally took the kids to the swimming pool for some fun. We didn’t do very well on our home school work but spent some fun time together.
Last Week’s Goals:
Intentional Relationships (Marriage/Parenting/Mentoring/Friendships):
1. Have weekly date night with Jason & write love note
2. Complete 4 days of summer school with the kids. We bombed on school this week. I’m going to get back on track by completing this by noon each day.
3. Read 2 Chapters of A Mom After God’s Own Heart: 10 Ways to Love Your Children I changed my book after this post but I did read 3 Chapters of No More Perfect Kids: Love Your Kids for Who They Are and I’m really liking it! It’s hard to remember sometimes that each child has his or her own person and not my little “mini me!”
Intentional Homemaking:
4. Finish kitchen design questionnaire for contractor and drop it off. (Baby steps for building our house! Anyone have any advice on kitchen design??) Questionnaire is done. Need to drop off today!
5. Help oldest daughter complete 2 4-H cooking projects
6. Make list of educational plans for next week & buy any items needed
7. Mow lawn and fertilize garden
8. Continue putting Emergency Kit together. Not finished but made a little progress
Intentional Self-Care:
9. Finish Margin: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial, and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives I’m really liking this book. It’s really making me evaluate how busy we are, our possessions, and how our culture is not taking time to nurture family and relationships, but instead pursuing progress..the bigger and better all the time. Very thought provoking. So I had a little more to read than I thought. I finished 3 chapters. Progress, right?
10. Take 5 walks, complete June Self-Care challenges, drink 24 oz of water daily, and eat fruit for snacks, look into Weight Watcher’s
Intentional Blogging:
12. Finish up 3 blog posts that I have already started.
13. Complete the first blogging challenge I set for myself last week- pin 15 posts to Pinterest. This is my week!
This Week’s Goals:
Intentional Relationships (Marriage/Parenting/Mentoring/Friendships):
1. Have date night and write Jason love note.
2. Encourage each child in an area they’re struggling.
3. Send 3 friends an encouraging text
Intentional Homemaking:
4. Make an appointment for daughter’s 3 year check up and my annual doctor appointment (if I don’t put it on here, I won’t do it), Call cabinet place and make appointment to go view their products
5. Research vacation destinations. We are thinking South Dakota this year. Anyone have any fun destination ideas that aren’t the Black Hills, Crazy Horse, Bear Country, or Reptile Gardens? We always have fun going to the places that aren’t quite as advertised that are the hidden treasures!
6. Clean carpets
7. Mow lawn and fertilize garden
8. Continue putting Emergency Kit together.
Intentional Self-Care:
