I’ve worked a lot on trying to create a better environment in our home, especially in the morning. I was tired of morning meltdowns, lost car keys, and forgotten appointments.
I’ve developed a morning routine which really helped me get more done but I was still missing something because we were still having some of the meltdowns that I was trying to avoid.
I also couldn’t answer my question of if I’m more productive in the morning, why was I not a morning person?
That is why I’m so thankful to have found Crystal from Money Saving Mom launched her new course Make Over Your Mornings.
This course gave me several insights into improving my mornings. It was a class I actually looked forward to because I could see the results in my home.
Here are 6 things I learned by making over my mornings:
-
Have a good morning routine.
I actually had a great routine written down but because I hadn’t planned the night before properly, it got messy very quickly when things didn’t go as I had planned.
-
I need to be proactive instead of reactive.
I was letting the lost shoes, misplaced homework and meltdowns control me instead of me having a plan.
-
Prioritize your life on what you love instead of your to-do list.
Think about this: should your to do list be more about what you can get done or who you are becoming? How can you find our gifts if you aren’t purposefully exploring what you love?
-
Having an evening routine is essential but it needs to start way before 1 hour before bed.
Mine begins at 4 o’clock to make sure we not only get things done, but are a happy family who is not just checking things off a list!
I want to have quality family time, not just be the mom yelling at the kids to hurry up so we can start the next thing on the list.
-
Sometimes all it takes is a tiny tweak to your current system to really make a difference!
-
If you are really struggling, set a goal and find a reward that will motivate you to do your best.
When you reach that goal, celebrate your best!
