Have you ever looked at the calendar and noticed that the week’s half over and you really haven’t got much accomplished?
I had that thought today. I haven’t written a blog post in a week, my house is a disaster, and my kids have been filthy, eating greasy, yummy fair food, and we’ve been gone more than we’ve been home.
And sometimes that’s what happens when you put your family’s needs before your own!
This week has been gloriously crazy. I’ve had to let go to live life. Let go of the “shoulds” and live!
We’ve celebrated a wedding where I got to bring the flower girl. It was beautiful, fun, and my family had a wonderful day.
We also were preparing for fair which started Sunday. We’ve been putting in 12 hour+ days caring for animals, showing animals and of course…carnival rides!
Living life this week is (or has been):
- a 4-year-old getting a dollar for taking cute pictures and deciding she can buy a pound puppy with her profits.
- a 12-year-old talking to and loving her animals and wondering if that love will lead to a veterinary career.
- watching Grandpa go on the tilt-a-whirl with two 7-year-olds.
- spending time with friends and cheering on their kids as well as your own.
- Photo booths
- going on rides with your cousins.
- adoring your husband as he works his tail off to make a kids dream come true.
- smiles.
- watching friendships bloom.
These are just a few examples (I’ll do a recap next week) of living life this week. What have you done this week to live life?
Welcome to Women With Intention Wednesdays!
I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already again! Welcome back to another great week of community!
This week’s featured blogger is Sarah at Redemption Diary with her post How Two Years of Blogging Has Changed My Life. Blogging has really changed my life as well!
I appreciate your posts and community each and every week! Thank you for helping make it successful by not only following the rules but for writing such great posts!
Here is what you will find at Women With Intention Wednesdays:
- This is a link up party where you come to encourage one another, have fun, and share your best posts to help women live their best life!
- In other words, any post that you have written about Christian living, homemaking, relationships, healthy living, living a frugal life or that helps another woman can be included in this link up! Please just keep them family friendly (I reserve the right to remove anything that I feel isn’t appropriate).
- This link up is beneficial for every woman! Whether you are a blogger or a reader, this is one you won’t want to miss! I’m very excited to offer this link up as a place to not only build new relationships between bloggers but also by providing an awesome resource of information for my readers!
Here are the rules of this link up:
- You must link directly to your post (no homepages, please).
- Please link up no more than 2 posts each week and please do not link up the same post week after week.
-
For every link you add, please visit the link before you and one other of your choice. If your links are consecutive visit the blogger before you and your choice for the 2nd link. It’s impossible to build relationships when no one communicates! I’ve had a few bloggers email me who haven’t had any clicks and there were more last week than any before. Please don’t link and run!
- By linking up you give me permission to share your posts and photos on this blog and social media. Each week I will choose a featured post. I will only feature and pin your post if you have followed the rules. All features will be linked back to the original source.
- You also give me permission to email you a quick reminder that the party is live. You may opt out anytime. I don’t spam my readers with emails.
- Answer the community building question below so we all get to know each other! That’s the purpose of being here! 🙂
In order to help grow this community with great posts and relationships, I would love it if you would add the party button to your sidebar, your blog directory page, or a text link at the bottom of your post. This isn’t required to participate in the link-up but I would really appreciate it!
If you were featured be sure to grab a button for your site! Thank you for linking up and sharing your great posts!

Community building question of the week: What is one thing you do for FUN?
I love antique shopping. I don’t have to buy anything but I really enjoy having time to go to antique stores and look without being rushed (being rushed is a common theme at my house this week…I’m ready for a slow down soon)!
a spirit of simplicity says
Sounds like a fun and busy week. Fairs are always great although I admit I am not much of a going on those crazy rides girl.
Michelle says
One thing I do for fun is taking my grandchildren on dates. Any time spent with them is fun to me. They are ages 2 and 3 so they are at a delightful age for fun times. Thanks for hosting and crazy weeks will generally slow down come fall – so they say!! Crazy week mean you “are living life.”
Michele Morin says
For fun?
Anything with my husband — going for a walk, sitting on the hill with a fire or a good book.
Thanks for your words about chaos this week! We all think that we’re the only ones whose schedules have gone wild, and it’s so great to know that we have company! Blessings! (Our fair season is in August!)
Bethany says
Go for a walk…no stressing allowed! : )
Emily says
What is one thing I do for fun? I enjoy running! I used to love finding road races to sign up for, but don’t do that nearly as often now that I have children.
Shelly says
Letting go of the “should” every once in awhile is hard but once I do it I look back and see all the fun memories and realize how much more sane I feel and know it was so worth it!! Glad you are having a fun summer.
Tia from Suits to Spit Up says
I love to get away for a little coffee and conversation
Good for you for putting your family’s needs before your own! That’s what this life is all about…
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:3-5
Terri Presser says
It sounds like you have been having a wonderful time. Thank you for hosting and sharing your week with us. Blessings

I so enjoyed your photos! For fun – like you, that means any time spent with my husband & family. Glad to join you today!
Lauren Gaskill | Making Life Sweet says
The fair is such a wonderful time for kids and families! Full of so much activity and fun. Enjoy and when it’s all over, take a spa day or something!
Susan Shipe says
Your week sounds wonderful. Memories! Far more important than to-do lists and a clean house! There is always time for THOSE THINGS! xo

Jenny,
Thanks for hosting the linkup! Sounds like you have had a great memory-making week!
For fun, my favorite thing is just having a cup of coffee and talking with my husband – especially if it includes some Bible Study.
Liz Joiner says
Don’t feel bad, our house usually looks like a bomb went off. Such a fun week. I love that last photo what a beautiful friendship beginning.

Sounds like you’ve had a pretty wonderful week! Nothing better than spending time with family making memories! I’ve been doing some of that myself–enjoying sofa time with my husband and going for long walks with sweet conversations. Thanks, Jenny.
Lauren English says
I love this and am SO right there with you. I had all these big blogging goals for this summer, and I feel like they’ve kind of fallen to the wayside as I spend time with my hubby and other family things come up. It’s hard to learn to let go, but there are so many sweet moments in the letting go and trusting that God will use our choices well. Thanks for sharing this and thanks for hosting!
Holly says
Thank you so much for the link up opportunity! One thing that I enjoy doing for fun is the whole family taking time out to watch a movie together. Something very simple and yet very wholesome!
Nikki Frank-Hamilton says
Sounds like life has been good. Flower girl and Fair animals, your kids seem to be enjoying life too, and that makes for the best summer ever!
Heather @ My Overflowing Cup says
It looks like it has been a perfect summer week!
I’m so glad you are enjoying your family, Jenny, because they will be all grown up before you know it.
Thanks so much for hosting the linkup.
Blessings to you and yours.
Heather @ My Overflowing Cup says
Sorry! I forgot to answer the question.
One of the things I love to do for fun these days is to retreat to my bedroom, close the door, and read a book (or my favorite blogs) with a nice, hot cup of coffee.
Or go on a hike with my family.
Sara says
I love going for coffee with a friend! There’s nothing like a good talk and good coffee to build you up.
I’m just new to this blogging scene and would love advice if any of you out there could give me some? 🙂 x
