Welcome back to my 31 Days of Decluttering In December! If you have missed any days in this series, no problem! You can find each day here!
Our bedrooms are supposed to be a calm, relaxing place for us to sleep. Many of us also use our bedrooms as an office, a place to store items that we don’t have anywhere else to store them, a kids play area (not by choice) or a place to fold laundry.
Today we are starting to declutter and organize the Master Bedroom. This is a big project so I’m dividing it into 3 parts. Today we’ll be decluttering the nightstands and dressers. Tomorrow we will be decluttering the closet. Sunday we will finish the Master Bedroom. So if you want to work ahead on Saturday so you can have a day off on Sunday, by all means go for it!
Today’s challenge is to clean off the top of your dresser, put items away where they belong (anything that isn’t useful or helpful needs to be thrown away, sold, or given away to someone else), dust, and for those of you with decorating skills, put something on it to make it pretty and inviting! You could also add a little holiday flair to your dresser! It may be a vase with flowers, a picture frame filled with a favorite memory, or something your child gave to you that is a treasure that you love.
Once you are done with your dresser, it’s time to clean off the night stands. Take everything off, put the items away, dust and add your flair! That’s it for today! If you want to get a jump start on the weekend you can go ahead and start decluttering your closet or cleaning the rest of the Master Bedroom!

Normally, my house becomes a mess during the holidays as I rush around shopping and baking and planning activities. And our master bedroom is the central dumping ground for all the clutter! Jenny, I can’t thank you enough for doing this series. You’re helping me turn my home into a peaceful retreat in the middle of the busiest season of the year. I really appreciate it!
