Welcome to March! It’s that time to update my 2015 goals and to check on the progress I’m making!
Spiritual Goals:
- To deepen and savor my relationship with God by going to church whenever we are home and healthy. We haven’t attended church nearly as much as I would’ve liked to due to sickness and being gone. I’m hoping March will bring better health and attendance.
To pray for each member of my family every day.I’ve been making great strides in praying each day!- To complete a Bible study. Have any suggestions? I’m thinking about a She Reads Truth study. Have you tried them before?
Marriage Goals:
- To pursue, be present, and savor my time with my husband by having at least 2 date nights a month. We had one every week in February!
- Go on our yearly marriage getaway.
- Write a love note to Jason once a week. Done for February!
- Read 2 books on marriage this year. I’m currently reading Happy Habits for Every Couple.
Parenting Goals:
- To pursue, be present, and savor my time with my children by spending 15 minutes individually each day helping them work on something the struggle with at school, snuggling, or doing something fun. On track
- Write a love note to each child once a week. There have been a few weeks I haven’t written notes but for those that I haven’t, I’ve made sure to sit down and cuddle, tell them I love them, and have enjoy each other’s company.
Family Goals:
- Complete 3 Family Service Projects
- Write 6 letters to our Compassion International child We have one letter done!
- To have our family pictures taken professionally We usually do this in the fall.
- To make each child their own photo book and have it done for Christmas. In progress
- To get Nora, Blake, and David all reading at the level they need to be while having fun (and let Ari soak it up because she sponges off of everything they do!) In progress.
Home Goals:
- Build and move into our new home while savoring the process. Getting closer
- Continue to save for unexpected expenses that incur due to the new home. In progress
- Move only items that are useful and that I love (this is going to be a hard one). I ordered moving stickers for my planner as reminders. Does that count 😉
Homemaking Goals:
Declutter 10 objects each day.Done in FebruaryTo do a better job of meal planning and incorporating new recipes. I’ve felt like I’m in a rut the last couple of months.Tried 4 new recipes in February!
Self-Care:
Instead of trying to lose an exact number of pounds my goal is to be more fit by increasing movement. I don’t care if it’s playing a game of soccer with the kids, walking down to get the mail, or making 40 trips up and down the stairs everyday.I’ve been more conscious of this. I’ve been playing more physical games with the kids like tag and our personal favorite “Big Bad Puppy” (I’m the bad puppy and I have to catch them…it’s a hit in our house).Take care of my dry hands and skin.I’ve done well on this and I can tell. My hands are normally very sore this time of year and they look pretty good right now!
Personal Goals:
To write at least 500 words a day.- To get the stories that I’ve told the kids onto paper.
- To be a happier person by letting go of comparison, realizing that family does not always equal blood, and giving myself a break. In progress
