If you like a rich, sweet, cheesecake-y dessert these are for you. I thought these were the bomb. My husband said he almost couldn’t eat it because it was too sweet. I’ve seen this recipe called Chess Squares, Neiman Marcus Brownies, Gooey Buttercake, and Cheesecake Brownies. It’s simple to make with only 5 ingredients!
Crust:
1 yellow cake mix (I used with pudding)
1 egg
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
Preheat oven to 300º and lightly grease a 9″ x 13″ pan. Mix cake mix, egg, and melted butter into a soft dough. Press into the bottom of the 9″ x 13″ pan.
Filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 cups (1 lb) powdered sugar
2 eggs
Mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and two eggs together until smooth, about 1-2 mins. (I used my electric mixer for this part.) Pour on top of crust. That’s it! Bake at 300º for 40-50 minutes until the top is golden brown.
