This last weekend was full of activities and fun!
We started off the weekend with our youngest child turning 3. She is obsessed with owls so it was her “owl birthday” she has been wanting for months! I thought she was going to have a perma-smile planted on her face when she opened her box full of owl plates and owl birthday accessories I ordered online!
Saturday afternoon, Jason surprised me with Big 10 championship baseball tickets in Omaha. I was so excited! We both love baseball and softball so I was thrilled that we were going to go.
We ended up having great seats along the first base line, right between first base and right field. We were 2 rows from being out in the sun (it was hot that day) so it was nice to be shaded and there was a great breeze that made the day very comfortable.
This was my favorite moment before the game when the Nebraska players gathered for prayer.
Even though our Huskers lost, we had a great time and a lot of fun. We weren’t sure what Little Miss would think about the game but she had a lot of fun as well and definitely enjoyed the treats! (Notice her little owl tattoo, that was her favorite treat in the birthday box!)
After the game and a little shopping at Nebraska Furniture Mart, we traveled back to Lincoln and ate at Jason’s all-time favorite restaurant, Misty’s. We splurged on prime rib and lobster (which was delicious) and I seriously thought they would have to roll us out of there, we were so full!
We needed to get back home on Monday to continue birthday celebrations with Jason’s family. Jason’s mom is one of the best cooks I know and she has instilled a tradition of homemade ice cream and not one, but two kinds of cakes for birthdays…chocolate and frosted angel cake. Needless to say, we gorged again.
We did manage to have a small softball game with the kids after we ate which was also fun and burned off a tiny amount of the calories consumed this weekend! I’m in real need of a serious work out after this weekend but it was very nice to have a break and enjoy our family. I hope you all had a great weekend as well!
