Welcome to Day 1 of 31 Days Of Decluttering In December!
December is one of the busiest months of the year. It’s also one of the most fun months of the year! There are concerts, traditions, church activities, baking, recitals, and lots of family togetherness! Add in family traditions such as driving around looking at holiday lights, a service project or two, and anything else that your family is involved in, and soon if we aren’t careful, it all becomes too much!
Today’s challenge is to create a December Bucket List.
It is important to include everyone in your household in this process! We start by discussing what activities are most important to us. This could include Christmas Eve church, a service project, making Christmas cookies, and a family service project. Your list will be your own with your own priorities.
Here are some of the kids’ ideas that made it onto our December Bucket List:
- Christmas Caroling
- Drink Hot Chocolate & Look At Christmas Lights
- Make Snowball Cookies
- Spend The Night With Grandpa
- Watch Frosty The Snowman, The Grinch, & Rudolph
- Christmas Church
- Read Christmas Stories
When you make your December Bucket List, please remember that it is important to have balance! There is no way you can do something every day, all the time! If you do, not only will you be stressed out but so will everyone else around you!
After you make your list, get out the calendar and schedule these things into your month. If you don’t, you will run out of time (I’ve learned this the hard way). Obviously you can be flexible if a specific day doesn’t end up working out, but it’s important to have them on your calendar!
What is one fun thing you are adding to your December Bucket List?

I’m so glad I included my kids in the process, because they came up with activities I never would have guessed they wanted to do, like making gingerbread houses and going Christmas caroling. 🙂
