We have now created our family’s bucket list and worked on our budget to account for these fun activities! Today’s challenge is to get even more organized and create a loose schedule. Before anyone gets panicked with the thought of this, remember, it’s a loose schedule and this shouldn’t take very long to do!
First, grab your calendar. If you don’t want to use your calendar, here are some free printable monthly calendars for 2014, that you can print for today’s challenge!
Next, look at your bucket list and determine which of these activities have specific dates you can put on the calendar. Use pencil, sometimes dates change! If an activity has a date and you know when it is, add that activity to the calendar. If you don’t know the date, that’s ok! It’s still early and you will get the dates later (such as swimming lessons in our family).
Here is an example using some of our bucket list activities:
- Ballet is on Tuesdays at 6:00 through the first week of June
- The girls play ball on Mondays & Wednesdays through the end of June (Sometimes they play one game a week and sometimes it’s 2. I will pencil mine in on the calendar in case there is only one game that week and can easily erase once the final schedule is out!)
- The boys play ball on Tuesdays & Thursdays through the end of June
- Horsemanship Camp is the first week of July
- Fair is July 12-16.
After you have gone through your bucket list you will be able to see your entire summer at a glance. You will know exactly when you are busy and when you have more free time. Our family is always on the run until fair is over. After that is our “relaxing” part of summer and have much more free time.
Here are the previous day’s challenges and some extra ideas to go along with these challenges:
