We all know that summer is a time for relaxing and enjoying nice weather and our family. However, many times summer can be filled with activities, running around, and really not all that much fun at all causing families to become overly tired and cranky with one another. I don’t want that for my family or your family this summer!
One way to extinguish the anger and stress in mom’s life is to spread out the work. This can be met with hostility and backlash from the family but it doesn’t have to be that way!
Today’s challenge is to turn a job into some fun working together with your family. By doing an activity together, you will build up your family unit and by making it fun, your family won’t mind helping out with some extra work!
The job you choose to do could be something inside or outside. Outside ideas include working in the garden, picking up outside toys, picking up trash in your neighborhood or helping you with your lawn. Ideas for inside are helping cook a meal or dessert, folding laundry together, finding items to donate or clean the windows together. The key to this challenge is to make a job fun while working together. Maybe you will have a small water fight while taking care of the garden or play “I Spy” while folding the laundry. By making a job fun, your family will be more willing to participate and you will have both a fun time! By starting now, you can use this little tip all summer to get tasks done and your family will continue to grow as you do it!
What do you do to make your chores more fun and get your family involved?
