I’m honored and excited to be guest posting at Becoming A Godly Wife on 10 Ways To Intentionally Prepare For The Holiday Season! Here is a snippet:
1. Start planning now!
The holidays are meant to be a time savored not stressed, rushed, and overwhelmed! Get out your calendar and mark down all of the events such as Christmas concerts, church events, and which days you will be celebrating the holidays with your family.
2. Create your budget!
No one wants credit card bills and a pile of debt arriving after the holidays! While you are budgeting, make sure you don’t forget some extra expenses around the holiday season including: extra food if you are hosting an event at your home or if you need to take food to a gathering, extra gas and travel expenses, gifts, holiday cards, postage for your gifts and cards, and supplies for wrapping or sending the gifts).
3. Plan your menu!
Where are you eating for the holidays- at home or are you visiting someone? If you are hosting, how many people will be eating? What are you planning on making? Do you need to stock up on toilet paper, paper plates, cups, silverware, or napkins? (These are great things to have others bring when they ask you what you need!) Will you have overnight guests that you will be making additional meals for? If you are traveling, do you need to take something to go along with the meal? What do you need to pack? By getting organized now, it will save you some stress as the holidays get closer!
