With the “official” start of summer just a few days away, I thought it would be fun to share my reading list. I love to share what I’m reading with you and also to see what you are all reading to get new ideas! I love to read non-fiction books, which I still find kind of funny because I used to read only fiction. (I am not very adventurous, am I?) I’ve found that when I read books on money management, being a mom, a wife, or a Christian, I can apply what I’ve learned to everyday life.
This is a large list. I probably won’t get through all of these but if I set a goal with a list, I’m more apt to finish it!
I am in no way an expert on parenting and am always excited to read new ideas to try. Each one of my children has their own personality and quirks so what works for one, does NOT work for all. Here is my reading list of parenting books I’m hoping to read this summer:
No More Perfect Moms: Learn to Love Your Real Life
No More Perfect Kids: Love Your Kids for Who They Are
Mitten Strings for God: Reflections for Mothers in a Hurry
Parenting Teens with Love and Logic: Preparing Adolescents for Responsible Adulthood
Preparing for Adolescence: How to Survive the Coming Years of Change
In order to have a great marriage, you have to nurture it. I’ve heard great things about this book so I’m excited to read it!
Red-Hot Monogamy: Making Your Marriage Sizzle
I’m always on the hunt to find more frugal ideas to incorporate into our household! As a manager of our home, it’s my job to be a good financial steward of our money.
The Good Life for Less: Giving Your Family Great Meals, Good Times, and a Happy Home on a Budget
Smart Money Smart Kids: Raising the Next Generation to Win with Money
This book has been on my reading list for a long time and the library didn’t have it before, but now they do! I’m excited to read it for free!
Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World: Finding Intimacy With God in the Busyness of Life
Focusing on my own well-being and self-care has become more important this year because I’ve become more aware of when I’m not taking care of myself, the family suffers. I want our family to focus on the big picture, not the day-to-day chaos of life.
The Overload Syndrome: Learning to Live Within Your Limits (Guidebook)
Almost Amish: One Woman’s Quest for a Slower, Simpler, More Sustainable Life
One Month to Live: Thirty Days to a No-Regrets Life
Finally, I’ve been wanting to start a Mom’s Group for a long time and am hoping these two books will supply me with the tools and encouragement to get it going!
Creating the Moms Group You’ve Been Looking For: Your How-To Manual for Connecting with Other Moms (Hearts at Home Workshop Series)
EntreLeadership: 20 Years of Practical Business Wisdom from the Trenches
What’s on your reading list this summer? I’d love for you to share!
I like your reading list. I’d love to read almost Amish. Thanks for sharing at the party @DearCreatives Theresa
