5 great ways to help a new mom introduction

Here is the 3rd great way to help a new mom!

3. Rock that adorable baby!

For any baby lover, this is a favorite!  It also frees up mommy’s hands so it’s a win for all!  This is an excellent way of blessing the mother who might feel uncomfortable having you clean her home, do her laundry or dishes, or simply the one who doesn’t like to ask someone for help!

While you are taking care of the baby, here are some ideas for mom:

  • Let her take a nap!  My Grandma used to come over when I had the twins and tell me to go take a nap.  If I wanted to sleep for an hour, she’d wake me up or if I didn’t need to get up, she’d take care of things until I did on my own.  It was one of the greatest gifts I ever received.  Every woman knows that new moms don’t get nearly enough sleep.
  • Let her take a shower or relaxing bath while you rock the baby!  Bring a pampering basket filled with good smelling bath salts or body wash, nice scented room spray, chocolate, a relaxing cd or ebook, or anything that you know she will like.  Then tell her to go use it and have a relaxing break while you watch the baby!
  • Tell her to retreat to her room and work on a hobby she enjoys without any guilt.  She could read, browse the internet, or whatever she prefers to do.
  • There is always something to do in the kitchen.  She can prepare food, do the dishes, or scrub the floor.  You can even visit while she is working.
  • Do a special activity with her other children such as play a game or read a story or take them to an activity.
  • Let her run an errand!  Maybe she needs to get to the post office, get some groceries, or even a hair cut!  It’s always been surprising to me how it is a real task to find someone to watch my kids so I can run to the salon and get end an hour of just having girl time!

How do you help your friends with new babes?

The 4th tip on how to bless a new mom will be up on Monday….
