Wishful Wednesday is the day of the week where I take an intentional step to cross something off my “I wish that was done…” list. The goal and intention of Wishful Wednesday is to be able to mark that wish off the list and give you a self-esteem boost that even on a day when maybe it hasn’t been your most productive, you still accomplished something you have been wanting to get done. This wish needs to be accomplished today!
Today’s Wishful Wednesday project was to take all of our aluminum cans to the recycling center and to go through one tote and list 15 new things on Facebook (and take the rest to donate this evening).
I started with the aluminum cans this morning and should have taken a picture. I couldn’t see out the back of my Yukon! When the guys weighed it at the recycling center there were 34 pounds of cans. Yikes. The nice thing though was that was $17 that I earned for loading up my car and taking it to the center. Not back for about 15 minutes (and there is a nice spot cleared out in our building!)
I then changed my mind about going through a tote and decided to tackle my bookshelf. I own a lot of books. I love to read, and I love to provide literature for my kids to read and look at. I have several homeschooling books that I had bought with the intent of homeschooling the twins. Circumstances happened and it didn’t work out for me to do so. I listed several of those items online and already sold $110 worth of books! (I may have to do this again next week!)
I’m pretty excited about my progress for a what ended up to be a few hours of work. Not only did it clear up a little space, but also provided some extra to cash to throw into our savings. I figured by the end of the work I made about $60 an hour. That’s pretty good for a stay at home mom in my opinion!
Did you get your project completed today? What could you declutter to earn some money?
