Yay!! Today’s the day! The day I start getting my routines back! After a wonderful summer vacation, I am really looking forward to having more order, less stress, and a clear brain again!
Each year I get the back to school blues when my kids start gathering their school supplies and packing their backpacks.

My kids start back to school tomorrow. I’m in a season where my kids are getting old enough to have routines without having to constantly ask me for help. This morning the kids and I went through their schedule and came up with a before, after, and night routine for each of them. My son’s goal is to finish his daily homework on the bus each day so he has more time to go farm with dad and Grandpa. He knows that he can ask until he has his after school routine done. Here are my 2nd graders after school routine:
My kids have always thrived with routine because they like having independence to do things they like (like go farming after school). I can’t wait for all of us to get back to our routines and have less rushing around and stress!
Do your kids prefer having routines? Do you function better with routines?
