It’s been almost a month since my last blog post. That is the longest I’ve ever went without blogging since this blog began. Yikes.
It’s not that I haven’t thought about it or had some great ideas that would be fun to write about. I just haven’t made the time to do put fingers to keyboard and go.
It’s been a very trying spring. We’ve had some farm struggles that we’ve never had to deal with before which means stress. My pregnancy has added to those stressors but we are blessed and baby is doing well. I have just a few days left of this 2nd trimester so we’ll have our little one in our arms soon.
My nights consist of baseball practice, softball practice, cattle chores, trying to help Jason get implements moved from one farm to another and the never-ending kid homework. We aren’t finished planting soybeans yet and still have 6 cows to have babies. In other words, my husband is stretched very thin now so I’ve tried to help with more of the farm work than usually do. All are important but leave me feeling stretched too thin and way too tired to want to blog after kid bedtime.
Now to the good things: the kids get out of school next week. I can’t wait! We have so many fun things we want to do this summer! Ball games start this week, too. After all the practices the kids are ready to play! We are getting ready for a big garage sale. I’ve used the KonMari method on many of the kids’ possessions and it’s time to get rid of that stuff! Finally for the first time in months I have made time to read. I’ve finished 4 books!
So where does this leave the blog? Well, I have done a lot of soul-searching and praying about this. I love blogging. I will be continuing to post and hopefully more consistently. No promises because I just can’t at this season of life but the want is there!
I’m also really hoping to get some fun posts up before baby comes, which means I need to get my laptop fixed! One of my dear children sat on my new laptop and now half the screen is black. Ugh. It’s easier to blog from there versus my phone!
I’m taking the summer off from Women With Intention Wednesdays. I hope those of you who have been such wonderful contributors will rejoin next fall. I want to grow this link up but I want to be able to give it more attention than I can now.
We’ve been contemplating some big changes in education, our farm, and life in general so those topics will be coming into my new blog posts, too. I want to get back to my roots of freezer cooking, canning our produce, and simpler life. A lot of that will come after June when most of ball games are over!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for checking in and I will be back soon. I have missed you all!
