We were very fortunate to be able to go to South Dakota for a needed family vacation this last week. We had been planning on going to South Dakota all summer, but had planned to go in August. After finding out our oldest needs a tonsillectomy the week we were planning on going, we changed our plans.
With the change of vacation plans, I had to change up my goals but that was fine with me. We had a great time sightseeing and after traveling for 10 hours yesterday (we made a few stops on the way back home) I am very happy to be home and hopefully back in a routine and working on our goals.
Last Week’s Goals:
Intentional Relationships (Marriage/Parenting/Mentoring/Friendships):
1. Have a date night and send Jason a love note
2. Get all appointments and preoperation information taken care of (oldest is having a tonsillectomy August 5th). Everything except for precertification with insurance. I’m adding that to this week’s list!
3. Enjoy the family time we have scheduled.
4. Prepare for upcoming trip to South Dakota.
5. Read 10 books aloud to kids, visit library, make puffy paint.
Intentional Homemaking:
6. Find out what I will need to buy to refinish my antique buffet. I also have a vanity to do…what was I thinking?
7. Organize home building binder.
8. Go through oldest clothes and see what we need to buy before school starts
Intentional Self-Care:
9. Stay on track with Weight Watcher’s points
Intentional Blogging:
10. Write 3 blog posts
This Week’s Goals:
Intentional Relationships (Marriage/Parenting/Mentoring/Friendships):
1. Have a date night and send Jason a love note
2. Call insurance company and get precertification for our oldest’s tonsillectomy
3. Read 10 books aloud to kids and take them to the library
4. Give each child a compliment daily about a strength they have. (I have a terrible habit of being on their case all the time when they do wrong, but don’t praise them when I should. I hate that about my parenting so I’m working on it!)
Intentional Homemaking:
5. Organize the kids’ clothes so I know what I need to buy for back to school clothes.
6. Start refinishing buffet
8. Get online and print some of vacation and 4-H photos
Intentional Self-Care:
8. Stay on track with Weight Watcher’s points
9. Exercise on the elliptical 3 times
10. Finish No More Perfect Moms: Learn to Love Your Real Life (I have 2 chapters left). Read 5 chapters in The Cure for the “Perfect” Life (I got an advanced copy of this book to review on the blog! I’m about halfway through and am loving this book!) Read 3 chapters in Smart Money Smart Kids: Raising the Next Generation to Win with Money (I started this on vacation and am Chapter 3. So far, I’m enjoying this book and am always looking for ways to teach the kids about money management.)
Intentional Blogging:
10. Write 3 blog posts and be more consistent in blogging!
What are your goals for the week? Have you written them down? I have noticed with my goals that have been on there about 4 weeks have become habits when I have done them consistently! I highly encourage you to try it out! How did you do with your goals last week?
