My “One Word” for 2014 is present! Therefore, each Monday I list my intentional, present goals for the week. My goals are broke down into relationship, homemaking, self-care, and blogging. I’d love for you to leave a comment and let me know what your goals are for this week as well!
I was definitely overly ambitious last week in my goals. I feel like I failed most of them but realistically, many of them were large goals so I am happy with what I got accomplished. There has been so much going on that it’s hard to get anything done because we’ve been on the go so much. I’m looking forward to the end of this week when we will be home during the day!
This is my children’s last week of school. Wednesday is their last day and they get out at before lunch! I’m very excited for summer vacation! This is also our first week of ball games four nights a week. (I’m a little nervous about this, simply for children being overly tired and trying to eat healthy meals!) So without further ado, let summer vacation begin!
One of my major goals of the summer is to not only be present, but to also continue educating the kids with fun activities. Many of my summer goals will revolve around that theme but this week’s theme is basically SURVIVAL!
Last Week’s Goals:
Intentional Relationships (Marriage/Parenting/Mentoring/Friendships):
1. Have weekly date night with Jason & write love note
2. Read with the children 3 nights this week
3. Praise each member of my home daily and let them know that I love them (I have noticed myself being hard on them lately and a few nice words of encouragement are always nice, plus I do have an amazing family and they should know it!)
4. Get summer activities planned out for each child
5. Make a summer goals list of what I want to teach each child over the summer.
Intentional Homemaking:
6. Clean office area. I’m half done. I decided in the middle of it to start decluttering instead of just cleaning so it’s not quite complete yet. Progress…
7. Clip coupons, make shopping list, and stick to it!
8. Clean master bedroom
9. Find 3 DIY Pinterest activities to try in the next week (Last week I started my own counter cleaner using vinegar and orange peels in a Mason jar. It was easy and fun and I would like to try some more of these type of projects) I found the 3 activities I want to try but didn’t get them finished yet
Intentional Self-Care:
10. Read 4 chapters in The Mission of Motherhood: Touching Your Child’s Heart of Eternity by Sally Clarkson (One of my favorite books ever. I’ve read it before, but it always gets my heart prepared for summer vacation and my focus on why I am a mom!) Didn’t have time to read much last week. Got 1 chapter finished 🙁
11. Take 5 walks, drink 24 oz of water daily, and eat fruit for snacks. I didn’t do this perfectly but made improvement. I will continue to improve on this goal this week!
Intentional Blogging:
12. Continue 21 Days of Preparing For Summer series
13.Write 2 other blog posts
14. Blog about one of the activities I do with the children or a DIY project from Pinterest (Are you on Pinterest? I’d love to follow you and would be grateful if you follow me back!) Didn’t get this one finished this weekend. We ended up with an impromptu family day yesterday which was great, but didn’t allow me time to finish this up.
