What are your must-have books for 2016? I decided in 2016 to round up my must-have books in a list because I always have a large amount of books I want to read but not enough time to pursue them all! By narrowing down the top 15, I am hoping that not only will I read these but also have time to read some others that I can add later!
Here are my 15 must-have books for 2016:
I am so excited about The Lifegiving Home: Creating a Place of Belonging and Becoming. Many of you know that Sally Clarkson is one of my favorite authors ever and I’m sure her latest will not disappoint! Sally is inspiring to me as a mother and woman.
One of the best books I’ve read on being an intentional mother was Hands Free Mama: A Guide to Putting Down the Phone, Burning the To-Do List, and Letting Go of Perfection to Grasp What Really Matters!so when I saw that the author had written a new book called Hands Free Life: Nine Habits for Overcoming Distraction, Living Better, and Loving More it was instantly added to my must-read list!
The Fire Starter Sessions: A Soulful + Practical Guide to Creating Success on Your Own Terms is not a new book but as I’ve wanted to develop more of my own products, I knew this would be a good book for me to read. I’ve heard great reviews and am excited to dive in!
I spent a good majority of 2015 telling you all about how wonderful The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing was. One of the best books I’ve ever read on the subject of organizing and decluttering. When I found out Kondo had written another book called Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up I knew I was going to want to read it, too.
I’ve always enjoyed Gretchen Rubin’s books. I’m excited that my library has Better Than Before: What I Learned About Making and Breaking Habits–to Sleep More, Quit Sugar, Procrastinate Less, and Generally Build a Happier Life!
Toni from A Bowl Full of Lemons (if you want to see a beautiful site, hers is amazing and one of my favorites) just came out with The Complete Book of Home Organization: 200+ Tips and Projects. I’ve heard rave reviews and am excited to read it!
I will be the first person to admit that when it comes to fashion I like it but I hate shopping for clothes. Hate it. Anyone want to shop for me? How to Get Dressed: A Costume Designer’s Secrets for Making Your Clothes Look, Fit, and Feel Amazing
This book isn’t out yet but I’ve heard a lot of other bloggers say that Breaking Busy: How to Find Peace and Purpose in a World of Crazy is amazing!
I have heard this book is life-changing! I’m excited to let Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer change my life!
I already own this book and haven’t had time to read it. It’s time because I’ve heard it’s wonderful! The Nesting Place: It Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect to Be Beautiful
Being that my Word of the Year is delight, I have a feeling that The Year of Cozy: 125 Recipes, Crafts, and Other Homemade Adventures will definitely bring me some delight!
Once again, not a new book but everyone knows there is always room for growth no matter what area of life. I’m looking forward to gleaning advice from Parenting the Wholehearted Child: Captivating Your Child’s Heart with God’s Extravagant Grace.
This caught my eye and I know a lot of women who adore Brene Brown’s books so Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead was quickly added to my must-have book list for 2016
Crystal at Money Saving Mom reviewed this book in December and I was knee-deep in moving at the time but I was reading her reviews and knew I wanted to add Simply Tuesday: Small-Moment Living in a Fast-Moving World to my must-have reading list!
I loved The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts. Being a mom to 5 very different children, I am always looking for more ways to individually connect with them (and they all have different love languages) so I’m hoping to get some extra ideas from The 5 Love Languages of Children.
What are your must-have books for 2016? I’m always looking for new books to add to my list! Have you read any of my must-read books for 2016?
