My “One Word” for 2014 is the word, present! Therefore, each Monday I list my intentional, present goals for the week. My goals are broke down into relationship, homemaking, self-care, and blogging. Last week was the ultimate of busy for our family. I honestly can’t believe I got as much done as I did on my goals but when I get most of my personal and household goals done, many times the blog suffers. However, family comes first so I’m very happy with how it all worked out.
Last Week’s Goals:
Intentional Relationships (Marriage/Parenting/Mentoring/Friendships):
1. Have weekly date night with Jason & write love note
2. Complete 4 days of summer school with the kids.
Intentional Homemaking:
3. Make list of educational plans for next week & buy any items needed
4. Help oldest daughter complete 1 4-H cooking projects
5. Water Garden
6. Try 2 new recipes
7. Get everything ready for ballet recital
8. Read 20 books to the kids
Intentional Self-Care:
9. Finish The Mission of Motherhood: Touching Your Child’s Heart of Eternity by Sally Clarkson & begin Margin: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial, and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives
10. Take 5 walks, drink 24 oz of water daily, and eat fruit for snacks- I’m still struggling with the fruit sometimes simply because we keep running out of it! I forget that the kids like it as much as I do!
11. Make homemade foot scrub
Intentional Blogging:
12. Write a recipe post and a blogging post
13. Complete the first blogging challenge I set for myself last week- pin 15 posts to Pinterest– With all of the chaos last week, something had to give and it was blogging. I’m hoping for a better week of scheduling my time!
This Week’s Goals:
Intentional Relationships (Marriage/Parenting/Mentoring/Friendships):
1. Have weekly date night with Jason & write love note
2. Complete 3 days of summer school with the kids.
3. VBS for oldest and youngest. Swimming lessons for the middle kids (This was a bummer because they are at the same time. The oldest has finished swimming lessons and youngest is too young to start so they are doing VBS while the others go to lessons).
Intentional Homemaking:
4. Water Garden
5. Help oldest daughter complete 1 4-H cooking projects
6. Make list of educational plans for next week & buy any items needed
7. Mow everything…last week all I got done was the yard
8. Put together tornado emergency kit (post to come this week on this)
Intentional Self-Care:
9. Read 3 chapters of Margin: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial, and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives
10. Take 5 walks, complete June Self-Care challenges, drink 24 oz of water daily, and eat fruit for snacks
Intentional Blogging:
12. Write a post on emergency planning/kits
13. Complete the first blogging challenge I set for myself last week- pin 15 posts to Pinterest
