Happy Monday! Today is our first day of “official” summer vacation! Yay! We have big plans for the summer! We will be working on character building, doing a little summer homeschooling, and having a lot of summer fun!
During summer vacation you will find me posting a little less here on the blog. One of my parenting goals this summer is to be intentionally present with my kids with activities and with my time. Each summer I realize how much they’ve grown and changed from the year before and how our family gets busier. I want to enjoy this time with my family. I will be posting Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and occasionally a little more.
Another summer goal I have is to work on decluttering and minimizing our home’s contents this summer because I have a whole house full of stuff that I don’t want to move when our new home is finished, hopefully this fall.
Jason is still in the field planting soybeans this week so we’ll have a lot of time with just the 6 of us. The kids start ball games tonight and have them throughout the week. They’re all looking forward to a fun season and it will be fun to watch how they’ve progressed from last year.

This Week’s Goals:
Spiritual Goals:
- Pray each day
- Go to church on Sunday.
Marriage Goals:
- Write a love note to Jason.
Family Goals:
- Start week one of character building
- Complete a summer bucket list item- we were going to have a picnic but since the weather this week is in the 50s we decided to do a carpet picnic and a movie later on this week. (We’ve been on very limited t.v. time since Nora started therapy so any t.v. is a big deal.
- Complete week 6 of vision therapy exercises at home with Nora.
Homemaking Goals:
- Sell $25 worth of stuff on Facebook exchange
- Finalize kitchen
- Catch up on laundry
- Take 2 boxes of donations to SAFE Center
- Purchase Ari’s birthday present
Self-Care:
- Take care of my dry hands and skin.
- Get on the at least elliptical three times.
- Go on 2 walks.
- Track weight in Erin Condren planner.
- Finish planting garden. It’s been so cold that we have postponed planting most of our plants! Hopefully this week, all plants will be put into the ground!
Personal Goals:
Track my time. This was a suggestion in The Fringe Hours: Making Time For You. Have you entered the giveaway for your own copy?
- Positive parenting. I tend to be really hard on my kids when they make mistakes. It’s a behavior that I really despise about myself and I’m working on how I handle those circumstances.
