It’s Monday! If yours started similar to mine, you also wanted to throw your alarm clock as it woke you up from a pleasant night’s rest! I have to be honest, this back to school schedule is not my cup of tea. In fact, I pretty much despise it (especially when I’m up at 5:30 AM to get to vision therapy by 9 AM).
However, it’s not a week to be grumpy or tired. This week we will have the kids’ first full week of school, a birthday, a vision therapy appointment, and the start of volleyball practice. After a weekend of fun, there’s no time for bad attitudes!
What do you have happening this week?
Each week I list out my 5 favorite things from the last week as well as my goals for the upcoming week. Did you have anything great happen last week?
Here are my 5 Things I Love from last week:

1. Minion cupcakes!
I know…for those of you who are very crafty you probably aren’t impressed with these but I was! The kids made these as a practice for our birthday child this week! I thought for a 12-year-old, two 7-year-olds, a 5-year-old, and a 4-year-old they turned out really well. Maddie made the top row and for as much as she has watched Cupcake Wars I think she has been taking notes! I loved them. We will definitely be duplicating them for the birthday child this week.
2. Fun times with the family!
We have had a fun weekend making stops at the children’s museum and Dairy Queen, while also getting some work done on the new house, and relaxing at home. After a few days of school, the kids were really tired! I caught them in so many “proud momma moments” where they were building Legos together, playing with their Calico Critters
and Li’l Woodzeez
and just enjoying being with their siblings. I love catching my kids being kind and loving to one another.
3. My weight loss journal.
I love this notebook I found at TJ Maxx and I’m hoping that I will have a post up later this week with a sneak peek into my journey! For now you get to see the pretty cover and hang in suspense until I quit…procrastinating!
4. Summertime produce.
Our garden has been a little late producing veggies this year so I was thrilled to go out yesterday and find this big pumpkin hiding under the vine. We investigated further and found several more so the kids should have some nice jack-o-lanterns this Halloween (and hopefully there will be plenty to share with some friends, too)!
5. Cat tricks!
This is our tamest, friendliest cat, Candy. She is quite the acrobat as you can see, she is sitting on top of the pivot which is approximately 15 feet high. Evidently she must have wanted a good view the other day when I caught her up there and ran in to grab the camera. The kids weren’t impressed with her climbing skills and bribed her down with cat treats as soon as they noticed she was up there!
