The 4th of July is one of my favorite family holidays! When I was a kid, we would light off our own fireworks, play some softball, get together for a barbecue and watch our local firework show.
There are so many fun activities that we can do together as a family! It’s also the perfect opportunity to teach the kids about how the United States came to be.
This year I wanted to make something for the kids to do. I created this scavenger hunt (print your free 4th of July scavenger hunt here or pin below to use later) to give the kids something fun to do while they eagerly wait for the “big fireworks” as my kids call them!
This free 4th of July scavenger hunt would be great to do at a 4th of July party! My two youngest aren’t readers yet so they will need to team up with an older friend or sibling.
To top it off, I found some red, white, and blue Tootsie Pops that I’m giving out as treats when they are finished.
What does your family enjoy doing for the 4th?

What a fun idea! When all four of my boys were small we used to make red, white and blue t shirts on Memorial Day so that we could wear them on the fourth of July. Fun memories!
