Welcome back! Today’s project was organizing and decluttering the living room. Hopefully this wasn’t too daunting of a task!
I was grateful to have all of my helpers home today as we had a mountain of laundry to take care that was folded on the couch before we started organizing or decluttering anything else. (Sorry for the bad lighting but it’s a clean couch!)
After the laundry was finally taken upstairs and put away, I started with the ceiling and cobwebs. With our funky, shake shingle looking ceiling getting the dust and cobwebs is task in itself and definitely took the longest to get done today.
After the ceiling was done, I had the kids to the stand next to the television. They keep their leapfrog magnets in a tote on the shelf as well as DVD’s and a few toys. They did a good job and finished by dusting the shelves. I was proud of them.
I cleared off my mess on the little table between our recliners while they worked on the stand by the television. I realized as I was doing this I definitely need a better paper management system (or elimination technique!)
Once we had all of the furniture clean, it was time to pull out the three recliners and the couch and vacuum underneath. I got over confident when we did the recliners and all I found were 2 candy bar wrappers and a hair clip. Then we moved the couch.
Oh.My.Goodness.
My oldest told me there was no way we can put a picture of that on the internet but to prove that I’m real, my house is a hot mess, and because I found where the socks go to hide when they don’t want to be matched….here it is.
Scary, huh! Hopefully your couch wasn’t as disgusting underneath as ours is! After the vacuuming we were done and celebrated our hard work with brownie sundaes.
