Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to make it through the day. Yesterday I shared how my family has been living in survival mode the last few weeks due to an overbooked schedule, home building obligations, and also shared the first 5 tips to get through survival mode when you find yourself struggling with life’s curve balls.
If you missed it, you can find the first five tips to get through survival mode here!
Here are the second part of tips to get through survival mode. After you’ve read all 10, I’d love to know which tips you use or if you have any additional tips! There are a lot of women who could use your help!
6. Take trash out each day.
I admit I delegate this chore to the twins. There’s nothing worse than getting home late at night and playing the, “What’s that smell” game!
7. Get sleep. No matter what.
Without sleep, no one can function. In our house, when people are lacking sleep and get rundown they end up getting sick. Chores are not as important as your health!
8. Kids need naps!
This goes right along with getting enough sleep but if you are staying out late at night, kids need to catch up on their sleep. Everyone will be happier when they’ve had enough rest and that includes teenagers!
9. Ask for help!
I am not very good at this but have gotten much better after having NICU babies, health problems and trying to balance a big family.
Whether it’s hiring someone to mow your lawn, weed your garden, take a child to an activity, or babysitting for a morning to catch up, it might be the decision that gets you through the week.
People really do love to help if their schedule allows it. Don’t be too proud to ask (and reciprocate later on)!
10. Keep your planner or calendar close and check it in the morning and evening.
This is something I’m usually very good at. Last week I blew off 2 obligations because I didn’t check my planner. One was important, one wasn’t. I almost forgot Maddie and David’s school physicals. Keep that planner close and make sure to jot down your obligations!
Do you do any of these tips or have any additional tips to share with my readers? There are a lot of women who could use your help!
